Man takes ‘wrong turn’ while working on Norwegian container ship, falls to his death, police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man in his late 20s was found dead on a Norwegian cargo container ship at the Jacksonville Port Authority on Thursday afternoon, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police said they responded to a death investigation around 4:30 p.m. after an employee found the man, who did not work for JaxPort.

His death appeared to be an accident that happened when the man took a wrong turn somewhere in the ship and fell, JSO said.

According to police, he fell several stories.

This investigation is ongoing.
