Motorcyclist dead after crashing on Jacksonville’s Westside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A motorcyclist in his 40s died after he crashed in Jacksonville’s Hillcrest neighborhood on Saturday around 5:45 p.m., according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said two motorcycles were headed northbound on Lane Avenue South and one of them was in the outside lane and struck the curb. The other motorcyclist said that a pick-up truck was changing lanes at the time of the crash.

Jacksonville Fire and Rescue responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The truck driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with detectives.
