Movie review: 'Marshall' shines light on dark history

Boseman shines light on character of Marshall in early legal career

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – 'Marshall' is based on the early legal career of Thurgood Marshall (Chadwick Boseman), years before he became the first African American Supreme Court justice. The movie focuses on a case assigned to Marshall while he was an attorney for the NAACP.  A black man is falsely accused of raping a white woman and needs a good attorney to prove his innocence.  The odds of anyone believing the man are low. Marshall works with another attorney and as a team they try to convince the jury the man didn't commit the crime.
