JACKSONVILLE, FLA. – A 20-year-old man pleaded guilty Tuesday to two counts of sexual battery and one count of kidnapping, authorities said.

In October 2009, Stanley Armitage II attacked the then 47-year-old woman while she was riding her bike in the Riverside area, according to the State Attorney's Office.

Armitage allegedly hit the woman in the head and then knocked her off her bike when she tried to get away. Attorneys said he then dragged the woman behind a building and raped her.

The case went unsolved until police were alerted in late 2013 that Armitage's DNA was a match in the case. Attorneys said Armitage's criminal history stretches from Florida to Oregon, where he was recently convicted on a charge of armed robbery.

State attorneys said Armitage now faces life in prison and will be sentenced the week of Aug. 4.

Two others in the case -- Rakeem Saleem Mitchner and Martin Anthony King -- have also been charged with two counts of sexual battery and one count of kidnapping. Their cases are pending, authorities said.
