TUCSON, Ariz. – Perhaps it's not unusual that Border Patrol agents in Arizona stopped smuggling attempts that resulted in the arrest of four undocumented migrants. It's where they found them and that they photographed them that is notable.

During two stops at checkpoints, agents found men hiding in the trunks of vehicles.

In the first incident, agents referred a Dodge Charger for secondary inspection after a dog alerted them to a potential problem.

During the secondary inspection agents found two men, a Mexican national and a Guatemalan national, concealed in the trunk. The female driver, a legal permanent resident from Tucson, was arrested for human smuggling.

The second incident took place near Sonoita, where agents conducted a vehicle stop on a Chevrolet Cavalier traveling on State Route 82. During the course of the vehicle stop, agents discovered that two Mexican men were being smuggled in the trunk. Agents arrested the driver, a man from Denver, on suspicion of human smuggling.

In both incidents, the undocumented foreign nationals are pending removal proceedings in accordance with Tucson Sector guidelines.

At one of the stops, an agent photographed two men wearing camouflage clothing in the trunk. The picture was later posted on the U. S. Customs and Border Protection website, cbp.gov.
