GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. – The Clay County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad assisted in dismantling explosives that were found in the back of an abandoned trailer Sunday just after noon in the 4000 block of Rich Road.
Clay County officials said that non-active civilian explosives were discovered in the back of a semi-trailer and posed no threat to the public because the devices were more than a 100 yards from homes.

Deputies said two people were cleaning out a foreclosed property when they found an old semi-trailer being used for storage.
In the trailer were several WWII-era military "line throwing rockets" and degraded containers of "Kinepak" containing white powder.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office bomb squad, the white powder is one component of an explosive mixture used for construction or mining. There were no other components located.
JSO bomb squad responded and disposed of all the items.
