Detectives located video surveillance footage from a convenience store in the area of Morgan driving the stolen Chevrolet Tahoe, and when deputies went to the Higgins Street home, they saw items that had been stolen from the other vehicles inside the home and noticed an ammunition magazine associated with the stolen gun, deputies said.

Deputies said the vehicles were all left unlocked and the keys were left inside the stolen SUV.

Morgan was taken into custody without incident.

The stolen SUV has been recovered and detectives executed a search warrant Thursday at the Higgins Street home to recover the firearm and other stolen property.

Morgan was booked into the Putnam County Jail and will be charged with vehicle theft, grand theft and burglary. Additional charges are pending the outcome of the search warrant.
