JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – News4Jax has confirmed with Duval County Public Schools that they will be making changes to security with the start of the new school year.
Spokeswoman Tia Ford said Wednesday night that Dr. Nikolai Vitti decided to shift security guards from low-incident schools to higher-incident schools a few weeks ago.

Ford did not have information on which schools will be without security guards next school year when News4Jax contacted her Wednesday night. However, she said lower-incident schools are mostly made up of elementary schools, while higher-incident schools are made up of junior high and high schools.
Ford said she would be able to give News4Jax more details on Thursday about which schools would be without security guards.
