In addition to the auto burglaries, there was one auto theft.

When deputies confronted the suspects, they ran away and a K-9 helped take them into custody, the Clay County Sheriff's Office said.

Tyrek Hampton, 18, Vernon Arnold Jr., 18, and Kahlil Hampton, 17, all of Orange Park, are now facing charges.

Stolen property, including a laptop, was recovered and returned to the rightful owners.

Friday, News4Jax spoke with a victim of the car burglaries.

"They took my aircard and about $50 in cash," said Jason Carter, an Oakleaf resident. "They broke into my wife's car as well.

Carter said he hopes he's able to forgive them.

"I was young once. People do stupid stuff all the time," Carter said.

Deputies remind people to, "Like it and lock it," meaning people should make sure to lock their car or take their valuables out of their vehicle.
