The teacher, Stephanie Stripling-Mitchell, was suspended May 25 without pay for 10 days.
The investigative report into the incident found that Stripling-Mitchell put her hand and arm against the student's throat and pinned him against a wall in late April.

Another teacher said the child was acting out.
That teacher said that although she felt the teacher had the right to defend herself, she believed Stripling-Mitchell lost control.
This wasn't Stripling-Mitchell's first offense.
She was written up in May 2012 for profanity and derogatory speech toward employees.
And she was written up in January for pushing a child to the floor and reprimanding him in front of other students.
Stripling-Mitchell is also required to get help through the Employee Assistance Program as part of her discipline.
