PALM COAST, Fla. – Two Matanzas High School students were arrested Tuesday afternoon after one of the students, who had been suspended, refused to leave campus, the Flagler County Sheriff's Office said.
Damien Thompson, 18, is charged with trespassing on school property, resisting an officer with violence, battery of a law enforcement officer and battery of a school official.

Deputies said they were called to the school about 12:15 p.m. They said Thompson was suspended after he got into a confrontation with another student and refused to comply when school officials tried to de-escalate the situation.
Thompson refused to leave school after the suspension, authorities said. School resource deputy John Landi told him to leave or he would be trespassing, deputies said.
When Landi tried to remove Thompson from campus, Thompson began to fight with the him in the school courtyard, deputies said. Landi suffered minor scrapes and scratches.
Deputies said Thompson was arrested, as well as a 15-year-old Matanzas student who tried to interfere.
The 15-year-old is charged with resisting with violence, according to the Sheriff's Office.
