FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Four days after vandals drained 400,000 gallons of water in from the Plantation Bay water system, Flagler County has rescinded a boil water order.

The alert was sent to 1,700 customers on Monday. The order was lifted early Thursday afternoon.

“The boil water notice is precautionary, and is required any time the water pressure drops below a certain level,” said Heidi Petito, general services director.

About 20 water lines were opened in the largely undeveloped Plantation Reserve Estates, located on the north side Old Dixie Highway west of Interstate 95.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, and will release information as it becomes available.

Anyone who sees suspicious activity should notify the Sheriff’s Office at 386-437-4116.
