Florida man accused of injuring Busch Gardens flamingo

TAMPA, Fla. – A Florida man was arrested Friday on suspicion that he threw a rock at a flamingo at Busch Gardens and injured it.

Witnesses told police they saw Julian Antonio Marquez, 19, of Lehigh Acres, throw a rock at the bird in the flamingo display area about 6 p.m. The flamingo was injured when it was knocked to the ground by the rock.

Marquez faces charges of aggravated cruelty to animals.

An official with Busch Gardens said the flamingo is back with the flock and is doing fine.
