ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said they arrested a woman Sunday who was seen on surveillance video stealing a senior’s purse from a shopping cart.
Brenda Lynn Cranford was arrested at a Publix in St. Johns County while trying to steal a senior’s purse, officials said.
Police said Cranford was seen on surveillance video Saturday swiping another senior’s shopping cart while her back was turned. The senior had cash, a smartphone, her ID and several bank cards in her purse.
Police said Cranford is a suspect in seven other cases of a similar nature at other retailers around St. Johns, Flagler and Putnam counties.
