Reward up to $10,000 offered in Waycross arson case

Georgia officials ask for information in apartment fire

WARE COUNTY, Fla. – A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information about a Jan. 20 fire that destroyed a unit at the Central Park Apartment complex in Ware County, Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens announced Thursday. 

Investigators with the State Fire Marshal’s Office, Waycross Fire Department and Bureau of
Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives have determined the fire was intentionally set.

Four families were displaced by the blaze at the apartments on Central Avenue.

No injuries were reported, and damage was estimated at $250,000, according to Georgia officials. 

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call the Arson Hotline at 1-800-282-5804. Rewards of up to $10,000 are given for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the fire.

Calls are taken 24 hours a day, and callers can choose to remain anonymous.
