JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The state fire marshal is investigating what caused a vacant home in the Northside to burn.  Fire investigators say the home is a total loss.

No one was injured during the fire, according to fire officials.

It took more than 30 firefighters for about an hour, to control the fire.   Fire officials say took that long because of some unforeseen difficulties.

Fire investigators said the house was boarded up and no one was inside.

"We had a lot of fire underneath the house and had some access problems getting to the fire," said Chief Trace Barrow with Jacksonville Fire and Rescue.

The home is a total loss.
