JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A water main break on Park Street left residents dealing with low water pressure and a closed road for hours Friday.
According to JEA, crews were alerted about the broken water main in Avondale around 3:10 a.m.
Park Street, between Pinegrove Avenue and Dancy Street, was blocked while JEA crews were in the area making repairs. The road had reopened by 3:30 p.m.
It is unknown what caused the break, which JEA said was affecting about 40 customers.
Crews had to open the road and create a hole about 20 feet long and 10 feet wide. Then, they replaced a piece of the broken main, while still pumping out water and letting it trickle down into the drains. From there, they had to bring in dirt to fill the hole.
