JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A garage was destroyed and two homes damaged by a fire Thursday morning on Drayton Drive, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.
JFRD said a passerby called 911 just after 9:30 a.m. Fire units found the house fully involved and took about 25 minutes to bring the fire under control.
The house was vacant, and no firefighters were injured.
Fire officials said the fire started in an attached garage, and had started the home burning before firefighters had it contained. There was also some damage to a neighbor's house.
The State Fire Marshal was called to investigate the cause of the fire.
