Man shot, killed at Sunoco gas station just of I-10

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was shot and killed in broad daylight on Sunday at a busy gas station. Police hope surveillance video can lead them to the killer.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the man was shot multiple times as he came out of the Sunoco gas station at McDuff Avenue and Rayford Street about 3:45 p.m.

Investigators said they don't have much to go on. The owner of the gas station, Mohamed Bleh, said this isn't the first time something dangerous has happened there. He said the most recent incident was just three weeks ago.

"We need more cops.  We need more security, we need to feel safe," said Bleh. "We work 24 hours, seven days. We need to feel like we are more secure."

Bleh said although the area he works isn't the safest, he never imagined someone would be shot and killed right in front of his place of business.

"I received a call from the station saying somebody got shot right outside of the store," said Bleh.

Police said the man killed was in his late 20s to early 30s. They said he was shot multiple times. While police are doing all they can to solve the crime, Bleh is hoping those who know something will come forward to police.

Police are asking anyone with information to call crime stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
