JSO searching for suspect in deadly shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is searching for a suspect in the shooting death of a 23-year-old man Monday night. JSO received a call at 11 p.m. to Carder Street- near Lake Shore Boulevard after shots were fired.

The victim was later identified by police as Markus Tanner.

According to witnesses, Tanner was speaking with a black male on a bicycle. The individual on the bike shot Tanner, then fled south on Lakeshore Boulevard. Tanner died at a hospital.

There is very little description of the suspect. According to JSO, the person is a black male in his late teens to early 20s and took off with a dark t-shirt wrapped around his head.
