Detours will be established with signage to provide warnings and directions for drivers.

“Communications with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, Fire Rescue, School Board Transportation, and other critical service providers have taken place prior to the closure to ensure County operations are coordinated,” St. Johns Utility Director Neal Shinkre said.

Officials said the pipeline crossing is part of two projects, the CR 208 Water Booster Ground Storage Tank and Booster Pump Station which provides additional water flow to the South and will provide service and fire flow protection to the east of I-95 and State Road 207 Water Reclamation Facility (WRF).

The second is the Pipeline Project which will provide reclaimed water from the new WRF to all service areas including State Road 16 and Northwest regions.

Petticoat Schmitt is the contractor and the full project is expected to be completed in Fall 2024.
