Body found in search for missing boater after St. Augustine boat crash, sources say
Crews searching water near 312 Bridge in St. Augustine (News4JAX)
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Sources tell News4JAX that a body was found during a search for a missing boater who was thrown into the Matanzas River when a boat crashed into a piling around 9:30 p.m. Thursday.
A witness said another person who was thrown from the boat was recovered alive and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Multiple agencies were searching for the second boater Thursday evening north of the 312 Bridge.
We are waiting to learn more from authorities about the cause of the crash and the end of the search.
