2 Orange Park High students disciplined after bringing water gun with realistic features to school, prompting lockdown

Clay County Sheriff’s Office said no threats were made toward the school, students, or staff.

ORANGE PARK, Fla. – Two Orange Park High School students received juvenile civil citations after bringing a water gun designed with realistic features to school, which prompted a lockdown on Monday, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said.

Clay County deputies and personnel from the Clay County District Schools responded and took the two students into custody.

Officials said no threats were made toward the school, students or staff and the lockdown was lifted.

Students and parents are encouraged to report suspicious activity on Clay County school campuses through the Fortify FL app or the SaferWatch app.
