Jacksonville Waves women’s pro basketball team celebrates launch

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Waves professional basketball team is celebrating its official launch in the River City on Tuesday.

There will be a panel discussion followed by Q&A with panelists, Jessica Bogia, the Head Coach, Waves players, a moderator and more.

The Waves will make its on-court debut on Friday against the Charlotte Crown at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena.

The Waves will play in the UPSHOT League in its inaugural season. The league intends to bring fresh energy to Women’s Professional Basketball in Jacksonville, Savannah, Charlotte, and Greensboro. This new league aims to elevate elite athletes, expand opportunities, and bridge the gap between women’s sports and the communities that support them, showcasing the next era of basketball.
