Xfinity service restored after outage hits thousands nationwide

Comcast and Xfinity users across the country were having trouble accessing their cable or internet Monday afternoon.

According to Down Detector, there were nearly 26,000 reports of Xfinity outages as of 4:30 p.m.

The outages were concentrated in several major cities like Chicago, Atlanta and Boston, as well as the Jacksonville area.

At 6:22 p.m., a Comcast spokesperson told News4Jax, “Our customers are now up and running after a very brief interruption to their services due to a system update. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
