JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Five people were taken to a hospital after a crash Friday afternoon involving a school bus coming from Raines High School, according to Duval County school officials.
The bus was rear-ended by a car about 2:30 p.m. at West Beaver Street and Edgewood Avenue South, police on scene told News4Jax.
Laureen Ricks, spokesperson for Duval County School District, said a total of 31 people were on board the bus -- two of whom were transported by Jacksonville Fire Rescue and three others who were taken to the hospital by parents.
The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
