Jacksonville police searching for white SUV linked to shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A woman was shot and rushed to the hospital after an argument led to gunfire Monday night, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

Police are now searching for the shooter and a white SUV connected to the case.

Officers were called to the St. James Place development around 9:30 p.m. This is near New Kings Road at I-295.

That's where an argument between two groups of people quickly escalated. Investigators say they left the area in their cars and that's when someone inside one of the cars began shooting at the other.

Police say a woman in the car was shot in her upper body. She pulled into the Race Trac gas station on New Kings Road to call police and was then rushed to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives spoke to potential witnesses in the area. 

Police are currently searching for a white SUV that may be involved in the shooting.
