YULEE, Fla. – One man is dead after a two-car crash on U.S. Highway 17 in Nassau County Friday evening.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened just after 7:40 p.m. on U.S. Highway 17 at Harts Road in Yulee.

The Nassau County Sheriff's Office said an SUV and another vehicle were going in opposite directions on U.S. Highway 17. The man driving the SUV died at the scene. He was the only person in the vehicle.
It's unknown if the driver of the other vehicle was hurt or if there were passengers.
Northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 17 at Harts Road are closed while troopers investigate. It's unknown when the road will reopen.
No further details were immediately released.
