MIDDLEBURG, Fla. – A family is without a home after a house fire in Clay County.
The fire, at a home on Peppergrass Street in Middleburg, was reported around 6:30 a.m. Firefighters extinguished the fire within about 20 minutes, according to officials.
Clay Fire Deputy Chief Dave Motes said that this fire is not suspicious, but the state fire marshal believes the cause of the fire was accidental. No injuries were reported.
A neighbor initially saw the fire and ran to alert the homeowner, who was sitting on the porch at the time.
Two adults and an unknown number of children live in the home, according to fire officials.
