Jennifer Waugh to join The Morning Show

Jacksonville's most-watched morning show will get even stronger beginning later this month as WJXT Channel 4 evening anchor Jennifer Waugh joins The Morning Show.

Waugh joins Bruce Hamilton, Richard Nunn and Staci Spanos, who will be transitioning into a new role in the morning. Spanos will be providing special reports for Channel 4 news and news4jax.com and will continue anchoring on a limited basis.

"I'm not going anywhere," said Spanos. "This is my TV family. I'm simply downshifting my role here just a bit so I can spend more time with my family at home."

Waugh, a Jacksonville native, will be anchoring The Morning Show weekdays from 7 to 9 a.m. with Bruce Hamilton, and continuing her role providing in-depth investigations.

"Jen's the pre-eminent investigative journalist in Jacksonville; she's in a class by herself," said WJXT Vice President and General Manager Bob Ellis. "Now the morning audience will benefit from her experience both reporting news, and growing up here in town. She's a fabulous addition to a terrific team."

The new Morning Show team: Nikki Kimbleton, Melanie Lawson, Bruce Hamilton, Jennifer Waugh,Richard Nunn, Staci Spanos and Ashley Mitchem.

"Jen is not only a great friend, but a tremendous anchor and reporter. She's the perfect person to join us on The Morning Show," said Spanos.

Melanie Lawson and Bruce Hamilton will anchor Channel 4 News from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. The station has begun a search for a new evening anchor for Channel 4 News at 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.
