Sgt. Chad Collier in court

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A police sergeant, who retired from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Dec. 16, was arrested Wednesday on stalking charges.

Former JSO Sgt. Chad Collier, 48, was with the agency for 25 years.

In August, a judge denied Collier's ex-girlfriend's request for a protective injunction against him.

In her injunction request, the woman said after they broke up, Collier would send her text messages, emails and drive by her house.

However, the judge disagreed that it was stalking and dismissed the charges.

Collier is now facing charges of simple stalking without threats, according to a JSO arrest report.

The victim is listed as a 34-year-old acquaintance of Collier's.
