GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A semi-truck accident closed all Interstate 75 northbound lanes in Gainesville early Tuesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said the front of the semi then hit the guardrail, resulting in the rear trailer tires coming up onto the concrete guardrail and becoming stuck.
After traveling a distance on the guardrail, the semi landed in the northbound outside lane on the east shoulder. The semi’s trailer became engulfed in flames, troopers said.
The driver and passenger had minor injuries.
Alachua County Fire and Rescue worked to put out the fire.
Crews worked to unload the cargo from the semi’s trailer to fully extinguish any hot spots before the road could be reopened, FHP said.
Traffic was diverted off the interstate, but delays continued through the morning hours as crews worked the cleanup, troopers said.
