2 dead after domestic dispute on Northside

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says woman shot and killed; man dead of self-inflicted gunshot wound

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police called to the sound of gunfire in a Northside neighborhood about 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning found a woman shot multiple times dead in the 12800 block of Dunn Creek Road. Then police found a man dead of what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police have not officially released the names of the man or woman, but Noel LeClerc, the father of the woman, told News4Jax her name is Stephanie LeClerc and the man is Wayne Blair, 39.

Noel believes his 29-year-old daughter and her boyfriend were fighting and things got out of control.

"It sucks because my daughter was on the side of the road. It hasn't really sunk in yet. I just talked to my daughter the other day," Noel said.

Noel says the couple had two children, ages 10 and 6. He says he's glad they weren't at the couple's home Saturday night.

"The biggest thing is trying to explain to the kids. Kids are always with us.. I just have to take it step-by-step you know. I'm worried about my grandbabies," LeCrerc said.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said it was still investigating.
