Local franchise owner Kevin Clark says he grew up going to Biggby Coffee whenever he visited Michigan, so when it was time to switch careers, Clark sparked on the idea of bringing the brew to Jacksonville.
He said Biggby is the “fun” coffee with more than 100 drink options, including names like the Bear Cub Latte and the Caramel Marvel.
“The coffee is all organic, hand-picked, super, super high-quality,” Clark said. “We take the coffee seriously, but not ourselves so much.”
Clark and his wife, Natalie, explained that Biggby Coffee also strives for sustainability and taking a more Green-inspired path.
“The company is working toward becoming farm-direct, meaning there’s no middle man, there’s no wholesalers in the middle. Get our coffee directly from the farmers,” Kevin Clark said. “And by doing that we can make sure that the farmers are taken care of properly. That they’re paid fair wages.”
And the farm itself is contributing to the community they’re in, Clark said. Right now, the company is 50% farm direct, but the goal is to be 100% by 2028.
Another feature for Biggby: They’re bagels come from the Bronx.
“They’re very good. Very high quality,” Clark said. “We have legitimate New York bagels.”
The local Biggby Coffee shop is at 8587 Beach Blvd. No. 1107 in Jacksonville.
