Amanda Gorman, the country’s first Youth Poet Laureate, will read her own inaugural poem during Wednesday’s ceremony.

Wolford has never played a snap in the NFL, but his coaches and teammates are confident he can step up. In the final game of his high school career, Wolford rewrote the record books in a 74-73 loss to Clay. Current Bishop Kenny head football Coach Tim Krause was the Crusaders’ offensive coordinator then and said that Wolford just didn’t want to lose.

Chloe currently has a 4.1 GPA. Chloe was also this year’s homecoming queen.

AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The superintendent of Catholic schools for the Diocese of St. Augustine on Thursday announced schools would begin the new school year on August 19, not August 10 as was previously planned. The schools affected include Bishop John Snyder High School, Bishop Kenny High School and St. Joseph Academy in St. Augustine, among others. The collection of schools is the latest in the area to postpone start dates due to COVID-19. Superintendent Decon Scott Conway said the schools are waiting for the delivery of sanitizing products, and instructional devices to upgrade the technology of the schools. We have had a few students test positive during our summer athletic workouts at the high school level, and we communicated with all parents and guardians regarding the positive tests.

The Bolles School, another large private school in Jacksonville, said Monday it is working on a reopening plan and hopes to release it sometime this week. Episcopal School of Jacksonville sent out an updated version of its reopening plan on Wednesday. Parents and guardians will be asked to monitor their student’s temperature daily before arriving on campus. Classroom desks will be placed in a way to maximize social distancing.

Students, faculty and alumni are posting their stories anonymously under Instagram accounts labeled BlackatBolles, BlackatBishopKenny and BlackatEpiscopal. The principal of Bishop Kenny High School said he’s disheartened, but he’s listening. Moderators for the account Black at Bolles said they have received more than 250 responses from black students, alumni, faculty and other students of color who say they were victims of racism while attending the school. “The school does not do enough to educate students and faculty on micro-aggressions and diversity,” the Bishop Kenny moderator said.
