Much needed rain is on the way!
The models are all pointing to increasing rainfall totals as a series of fronts will move through the area on Thursday and this weekend. There are positives and negatives as these fronts swing through.
The biggest positive is the needed rainfall. Models all show between 1 and 3 inches of beneficial rain through Sunday evening. The negatives will be the strong and gusty wind on Saturday and the thunderstorms that could develop along the front. If we could order the weather à la carte, we would ask for the water, without the electricity.
Near record highs are expected on Wednesday with a steady southwest breeze. Above average highs, in the upper 80s to low 90s, with a record of 93 degrees set in 1991.
Tonight: Partly cloudy with light wind. Patchy to areas of smoke-enhanced fog.
Wednesday: Near record highs under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Morning lows in the upper 50s to 60s. Highs in the upper 80s to low 90s inland, 70s to low 80s along the beaches. Wind: SW 10-15 mph.
Thursday: Scattered showers with isolated thunderstorms, 40-60 percent. Becoming cloudy with a chance of showers and storms moving in after 10 a.m. Morning lows in the 60s. Afternoon highs in the 80s inland, 70s to low 80s along the beaches. Wind: NW 5-10 mph.
Looking ahead: A mild Friday will wrap up the week as we get ready for rounds of rain this weekend.
Sunrise: 6:45 a.m.
