JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Rain, rain, go away!
Since mid-August, many locations in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia have seen more than a foot of rain, leaving many locations water-logged, literally super-saturated.

This sets the stage for fast rising ponds of water, both in the backyard and on the roads as more downpours reach Jacksonville Tuesday.
Rainfall is from a low pressure moving into Florida from the Gulf of Mexico. It will pump more rains across Florida all day today. Most rainfall forecasts are for another 1 inch, just enough a few locations to see some additional flooding.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Joaquin formed south of Bermuda. It's not expected to impact Florida, other than re-building a ground swell for the surfers. In fact, if Joaquin develops quickly, he could actually help dry Jacksonville out.
Joaquin is expected to merge with a cool front that will pull him northward. If he does merge, then a fast moving Joaquin could impact New England with heavy rainfall later this week.
Best news for Jacksonville? With Joaquin moving up the East Coast, we should dry out and turn beautiful this weekend.
As we head into the first week of October (OMG, can you believe it?), we'll be treated with very Autumn-like conditions with temperatures being stunted in the upper 70s for highs and lows down in the mid to upper 50s and low to mid 60s at the coast.
If the models are to be believed, our temperatures will be some 5 to 10 degrees below normal for this time of year.
