As a Streaming Producer, you will play a crucial role in the development, execution, and management of our station’s streaming content. From live news coverage to crafting compelling long-form and short-form programs, your mission will be to create streaming content that stands out. In this dynamic role, you’ll bring together your editorial judgment, creative skills, and technical expertise to produce programming that captures the essence of our community.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and produce engaging live news coverage and innovative programs for our streaming audience, ensuring a seamless blend of breaking news and significant live events.
- Collaborate with the Streaming Executive Producer and news management team to develop a comprehensive daily plan for continuous, breaking, and live news coverage that aligns with our multi-platform strategy.
- Research, write, and edit stories, building captivating programming that appeals to our community.
- Coordinate live segments, guest interviews, and topical coverage, working closely with the Content Center and reporters to deliver real-time updates on developing stories.
- Utilize modern graphics and dynamic storytelling techniques to enhance viewer engagement and clarity, ensuring content is free from distractions.
- Maintain consistent communication with the news team to guarantee a fluid and coherent news delivery process.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications:
- Prior years of experience in a live broadcast news environment, inclusive of control room experience.
- Demonstrated editorial judgment and critical thinking abilities, with robust writing and proofreading skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across diverse work groups.
- Extensive knowledge of television news production techniques, confident in line producing and managing a control room environment.
- Proficient in the use of digital tools and content management systems (CMS).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, encompassing early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven understanding of analytics for digital and streaming platforms.
- A collegiate degree in journalism or broadcasting, complementing your hands-on experience in the field.
