JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The building where the Ida Claire restaurant sits is changing for the third time after the company announced it will rebrand to an “everyday urban tavern,” according to News4JAX news partner The Daily Record.

The Dallas-based restaurant will transform to its sister concept called the Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar, which is described as a restaurant “with wood-fired and full flavored dishes, innovative craft cocktails, a killer library of spirits and an array of exclusive barrel picks,” according to a company statement obtained by TDR.

Restaurant-goers still have a chance to enjoy the Southern-style cuisine offered by Ida Claire because it doesn’t close its doors until March.

The company submitted a permit application for nearly $900,000 to expand the over 6,700-square-foot Ida Claire building to seat 314 customers.

Mimi’s Cafe once stood where Ida Claire is located but the restaurant announced its closure in 2019.
