JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – From San Marco to Riverside, Avondale to The Beaches, and right here in downtown Jacksonville — hundreds of murals make Jacksonville memorable.
Jacksonville’s murals are the gems that keep it going.
In San Marco, London artist Remi Rough brought color to the area. Rough is an abstract artist who pushes the boundaries of shape and space, with his bold color palette reminiscent of the graffiti art movement that the artist was heavily involved in during his youth, according to his website.

“I do murals all the time,” Rough said. “I was doing the one downtown on the big parking lot, and it rained and rained and rained, so I stayed for like eight extra days.”
Rough has painted two murals in Jacksonville. His San Marco mural lives on the exterior wall of Grape and Grain. The mural has given new light to the strip of shops and restaurants.
Rough said that even though he resides in London, Jacksonville has a piece of his heart and his art.

“Hopefully, later this year or next year, we are going to pick up some other murals. I’ll definitely be back there!”
