JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Here’s something you don’t see every day — horses in the drive-thru!
Members of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office’s Mounted Unit at the Chick-fil-A in Ortega Park. The Sheriff’s Office told News4JAX the officers and their horses were out on a training exercise and to engage with the community.
The police horses were practicing moving in tight spaces, navigating around cars and working through distractions.
JSO has five police horses: Judge, Jaxx, Duke, Nash and Ace. You’ll typically see the Mounted Unit at football games, concerts, parades and protests.
