Duval County
Spooktacular at Jacksonville Zoo: Hip-hop skeletons and friendly ghost guides will be ready to welcome families from Northeast Florida and beyond to the Jacksonville Zoo in October.
The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens' 37th annual Spooktacular event is a family-friendly fall event that will be held from Oct. 17-20 and 24-31. During the event, families can experience an array of treats, tricks, and spine-tingling surprises throughout the zoo, according to a release. Click here for tickets, dates and more information.

Ortega Church Pumpkin Patch: Address: 4807 Roosevelt Blvd, Jacksonville FL 32210 | This pumpkin patch is open Oct. 1 until Oct. 31, Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., as well as the weekends, open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Stop by for family pictures and fun! Haunt Nights returns to Adventure Landing: Be sure to check out the largest 3D haunt in Jacksonville! Haunt Nights makes its highly anticipated return to Adventure Landing this Halloween – with the lowest ticket prices in years. Open select nights running through Nov. 2. Congaree and Penn Pumpkin Patch: From Sept. 20 to Nov. 10, enjoy live music, a pop-up bar, a food truck, and the pumpkin patch on select evenings this fall. Farm passes include access to the farm grounds, access to the pumpkin patch, and access to live music. Pick your pumpkin and purchase your pumpkin at the farm stand. Pumpkins are $12 each. More info

Rocky Horror Picture Show 2024: “It’s a Halloween ritual at the Florida Theatre, and if you have never seen The Rocky Horror Picture Show in person, you really have to make this a bucket list item. Come as you are, or come in costume. The evening begins at 8 p.m. with an hour of live party music from the Carole Mayedo Band, and then host Karrissa Wade takes the stage to welcome the audience before we screen the movie, and finish after the movie with a theatre-wide “Time Warp” dance-a-thon. A home in Clay County has — once again — built an entire haunted house for those brave enough to enter. Daniel’s Dungeon of Haunted Horrors is located off Blanding Boulevard and is said to be one of the best local scares in our area! Sheriff Hardwick’s Haunted Jail brings scares to St. Johns County: Care for a scare? Be sure to attend Sheriff Hardwick’s Haunted Jail on Oct. 18-19, 25-26 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The event is in the historic St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Jail Annex at 4015 Lewis Speedway in St. Augustine. While it is a family-friendly event, the Haunted Jail is not recommended for children under 10. The outdoor event area will feature a movie screen, trunk or treat area, games, photo booths, face painting, nail decorating, and more. Tickets are $15. More info

Ancient City Kids Day: Coordinated by EPIC and brought to the community by a committee of children’s organizations, this event on Oct. 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Francis Field in Downtown St. Augustine is free for the public and will include over 40 youth service organization booths each of whom will offer games, activities, crafts, giveaways, bounce houses or fun contests for kids. Free Trunk-or-Treat at Ascension St. Vincent’s St. Johns County: This free family event will take place at Ascension St. Vincent’s St. Johns County on Sunday, October 20 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. There will be a health fair, free candy, prizes, food trucks, and so more.
