St. Augustine’s ‘Giving Machine’ offers unique charitable donations during holiday season

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – In the spirit of giving, St. Augustine has rolled out a unique charitable act that can reach those in need locally and across the world.

The Giving Machine is a vending machine-style donation experience. So, instead of getting a snack to satisfy your hunger or a drink to quench your thirst, you can select various gifts to help others through charitable organizations such as Lifting Hands International, Catholic Relief Services, BASCA and Sharing Putnam’s Bounty.

Donation gifts include food for underserved communities, educational software, and personal hygiene supplies.

The machines are at the St. Augustine Vistors Centers Plaza on 10 South Castillo Drive.

You can select a donation from Nov. 29 through Dec. 15.

How it Works:

  1. Each machine offers an identical selection of items representing global and local organizations
  2. You can add as many items as your heart desires up to a total of $1,500
  3. Credit card and mobile payments are accepted
  4. Enter a phone number or email to receive a digital receipt
  5. And 100% of each donation will go to the applicable charity

The vending machines also made an appearance in 2022. The only other Giving Machine in Florida is in Orlando.
