“We’re really excited about how the event is coming together,” said Sarah Allen Foster, Cowford Ball Chair. “During the program, Honorary Chair Dr. Eric Sandler from Nemours and I will discuss our highways of life, as he was part of my care team more than twenty years ago while I was emerging from my battle with pediatric leukemia.”

A special “Paddle Raise” will follow, with all funds raised going to pediatric cancer research. Additional opportunities to give directly to pediatric cancer research will include purchasing art created by current pediatric cancer patients.

This year’s event is sold out but a News4JAX Insider can win a pair of tickets by entering the contest below. The winner will be announced on River City Live on Friday, September 9 at 11 a.m. The contest runs from Friday, September 2 at 11 a.m. until Friday, September 9 at 10 a.m.

Every dollar raised at Cowford Ball helps the American Cancer Society save lives by helping people stay well through prevention and early detection; helping people get well through direct support; by finding cures through groundbreaking research; and by fighting back through public policy efforts. Because of the progress made against cancer, five hundred lives are saved every day that would have otherwise been lost to cancer.

Each year, more than five hundred guests attend the Cowford Ball. Since its inception, the event has raised almost $10 million in the fight against cancer.
