BRUNSWICK, Ga. – The Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds jet demonstration team and southern rock band .38 Special will headline JLC AirShow Management's inaugural Wings Over the Golden Isles Air Show at Georgia's Brunswick Golden Isles Airport Oct. 8 and 9.
The air demonstration team's nine red and white CT-114 Tutor turbo jets will perform over the airfield. The team will spotlight Canada's air force across coastal Georgia's autum skies, performing nearly 50 maneuvers on both days of the air show. The Brunswick air show will be the team's final U.S. performance for 2016.

In addition to the Canadian Snowbirds, top civilian aerobatic teams will appear at coastal Georgia's first air show in nearly 20 years.
Three-time national aerobatic champion Patty Wagstaff leads a list of elite aerobatic performers. Current U.S. national aerobatic champion Pilot Rob Holland and his sleek MXS-RH aircraft, Bill Braack's powerful Smoke-N-Thunder Jet Car and Scott Yoak's Quicksilver P-51D Mustang are also scheduled to perform.
Wings Over the Golden Isles will conclude with an outdoor concert featuring headliner .38 Special.
Formed in neighboring Jacksonville, Florida, .38 Special reached number 1 on Billboard magazine's top charts during the 1980s with a string of hits, including "Caught Up in You" and "If I'd Been the One." The band’s breakthrough hit song "Hold On Loosely" brought them into the national spotlight in 1981.
The evening concert series is included with air show tickets. Special concert-seating tickets can also be purchased for guests who want reserved seats. Musicians Scott Thompson and Angie Lynn Carter will open for .38 Special on the grand stage. The evening will conclude with a fireworks show over the airfield.
The air show will also feature performances by the Sky Soldiers Cobra Demonstration Team, an elite group of decorated veteran military aviators using a fleet of AH-1F Cobra Attack helicopters. The U.S. Special Operations Command Para-Commandos skydiving demonstration team will free-fall for about 2 miles, reaching speeds in excess of 120 mph as they touch down at the center of the show.
Buck Roetman will pilot his Christen Eagle through many dizzying maneuvers. Kent Pietsch's Interstate Cadet aircraft will provide aerobatic comedy and a few heart-stopping performances, including an attempt at a pinpoint landing atop a moving vehicle on the flight line.
Guests of the Wings Over the Golden Isles Air Show will be able to climb aboard vintage aircraft and take to the skies over the airfield. Tickets for flights in an open cockpit WACO Biplane, a DC-3 commercial airliner, a Huey UH1 and one of the Sky Soldiers' Cobra AH-1F attack helicopters can be purchased online at wingsovergoldenisles.com/attractions/war-bird-rides.
The Kids Zone attraction, near the air show entrance, will feature several aviation-themed air bounces, a climbing wall and other activities. A special $15 wristband will allow children unlimited access all day long.
