ORLANDO, Fla. – In sports and music it’s Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. In music alone it’s Beyonce and Jay-Z. And in the world of pro wrestling, the biggest power couple is Bianca Belair and Montez Ford.
“What a time it was,” recalled Ford about when he arrived in NXT at their Orlando studio in 2015.
A year later he met his future bride, Belair.
“In that first year, I was at NXT in developmental learning myself as a WWE Superstar,” Ford said.
“NXT is not just close to our heart because of wrestling,” said Belair. “It’s close to our heart because we met each other. So our life started in wrestling in NXT and our life together in NXT.”
One of the things we discuss is the new media deal between WWE and CW Network. NXT officially debuts on CW on Oct. 1 at 8 p.m.
“It’s a massive deal,” said Ford. “Been dealing with Fox and USA for years. But now we’re going to CW. It’s a whole new set of eyes.”
“It’s a new era,” said Belair. “We were part of NXT when NXT went to USA live for the first time so it’s a transition of NXT going to CW and they get to put their stamp on it.”
CW will now be the only broadcast (over the air) home for WWE programming as Raw is moving to Netflix and Smackdown is leaving Fox for USA Network.
Belair also talks about tagging with another star, Jade Cargill.
“It’s good,” said Belair. “I feel like we’re still growing as a tag team. You take two people who are used to being in the singles picture and you put them together. So right now we’re trying to make it a collaboration.”
For Ford, his focus is on dealing with The Bloodline.
“Eliminate The Bloodline,” Ford said is his primary focus in the company. “It’s been a four-year pain but you know it’s going to come to an end.”
He says a tag team championship for his team The Street Profits is ahead of them.
Also on this episode, Victoria Crawford (formerly Alicia Fox) is back to discuss life on WWE reality television. She was one of the cast members on the old WWE Divas reality show.
