Jacksonville church holds live nativity scene with real animals

Imagine going to a live nativity scene and you see real animals.

That’s what the Christ Church, located on 103rd Street, managed to pull off Saturday evening.

The church had a real camel, a donkey, two sheep, a herd of goats, two alpacas, even a border collie rescue dog.

Organizers of the event say they were able to get the live animals thanks to a friend of one of the church’s pastors.

“It’s supposed to be a normal church situation and then it went crazy after we just set up and get some live animals,” says Pastor Charles Scott of the Christ Church. “With god, when we do the natural, god will do the super, and that’s really super natural.”

The church also had hot cocoa, cookies, and of course caroling for everyone to enjoy.
