Clock’s ticking! About 3 weeks left to face your fears at 13th Floor Jacksonville

Popular haunted house has 4 themed attractions, a ‘Behind the Screams Tour’ and ‘Monster Free Hour’

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – It‘s become an annual tradition for News4JAX to send fresh meat through the horrors of 13th Floor Jacksonville’s haunted house.

This year, though, the lot fell back on anchor and reporter Aaron Farrar. (Anchor/investigative reporter John Asebes has already volunteered for next year -- and we’re holding him to it!)

Since Aaron ha braved the frights before, we threw in a twist this year: Lights out!

Aaron went through the attraction completely in the dark instead of with the camera light on. Admittedly, it makes it harder to see what’s happening to him -- but you can HEAR his screams just fine (Bwa-ha-ha!)

The 13th Floor Jacksonville has four new themed attractions for horror enthusiasts this season, including The Nightwalkers, Lycans Curse, Craft of The Midnight, and Clown Alley.

The frights are available on select evenings through Saturday, Nov. 9.

Eventgoers will also be able to add-on experiences including mini escape games, a “Return of the Dead Zombie Shoot,” and $5 for 5 axe throwing.

13th Floor Jacksonville is also offering a “Behind the Screams Tour” which gives guests a glimpse into the innermost workings of the haunt and a “Monster Free Hour” where guests can enjoy the haunted house without the fear of any live actors. The spooky lighting and eerie sounds will keep the haunted house atmosphere alive.

There will be local food trucks and non-alcoholic beverages on-site for hungry and thirsty vampires and ghouls.

Tickets are available with prices starting at $19.99. Click here for pricing and more information.

This event may be too intense for children under 12.

According to a release, 13th Floor Jacksonville’s main attractions include:

  • The Nightwalkers: As global temperatures rose, an ancient virus buried in thawing Antarctica, Necrotherma Virulenta (NTV-1), emerged, turning people into ravenous zombies. Thriving in the warmer climate, the virus spread rapidly and mutated aggressively. Cities fell to chaos as survivors fought to survive behind barricades. Led by an epidemiologist, a small group ventures into the heart of infection, seeking a way to stop Necrotherma Virulenta and save humanity.
  • Lycans Curse: The Legends of the North bring forgotten folklore creatures lurking in the shadows of ancient winds. As the Blood Moon rises, the Order of the Beasts dons animal totem masks and hunts villagers. Shape-shifting wendigos, werewolves, and evil spirits emerge, their eyes gleaming with hunger. A lucky few, whose sacrifice pleases the Ancient Ones, gain lycanthropic transformation, turning the fight for survival into a desperate battle against the supernatural with only courage and cunning as weapons.
  • Craft of The Midnight: The Midnight Coven gathered under a moonless night, led by the Sorceress Selene. They aimed to usurp Baron Crow’s immense powers, using ancient spells and forbidden rituals to control him and his dominion over souls. As their magic grew stronger, fear spread through the city. Baron Crow, now a puppet of the Coven, watched helplessly as New Orleans fell under their malevolent rule.
  • Clown Alley: Boomer, the malevolent clown, ruled the Red Pumpkin Pale Carnival, a twisted nightmare of unspeakable horrors. Chased out of every town, the carnival set up in a small, unsuspecting village as Halloween approached. Behind the garish big top lay a dark secret—a portal to a nightmarish realm needing souls to sustain the carnival and grant eternal life to its inhabitants. This Halloween, the carnival cast a shadow of fear, turning festive dreams into nightmares as Boomer and his crew hunt for fresh souls to feed their otherworldly hunger.
