Excedrin returns to shelves

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After a nine month absence from store shelves, pain reliever Excedrin is back in production and returning to stores.

The popular over the counter medication for headaches was recalled by maker Novartis in July because some shipments contained the wrong pills. The company also recalled Bufferin and No-Doz.

"It's kind of surprising and kind of scary in some aspects because there was a mix-up of tablets," said Dr. Gary Roberts, a pharmacist. "The tablets were in the right boxes so that's always scary."

Roberts said getting the popular medicine back on the shelf will help his customers.

"I know a lot of people who have done well with Excedrin have missed it," said Roberts.
