Fats that won't make you fat

No description found

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – We always hear to stay clear of fat if we want to stay healthy and fit, but actually not all fat is bad. Stay clear of foods high in saturated or trans-fat because those can add on the pounds.

First, eat fatty, oily fish like salmon, tuna, sardines and trout because they are full of omega-3 fatty acids.

Try adding avocados to your diet. They are loaded with monosaturated fat and lower bad cholesterol.

Eat chickpeas which are high in fiber and packed with protein. You can eat them plain or make them into a side of hummus.

Don't forget to add almonds, walnuts and pistachios into your diet. They have been linked to lowering the risk of type-two diabetes and heart disease.

Try extra virgin coconut oil when cooking or baking. Studies have shown that it boosts resistance to viruses and bacteria that can make you sick. It positively affects our hormones for thyroid and blood sugar control, which helps with weight loss.
